Power supplies Moddular or Not

Evening all

Watching the recent Tek Build for kill your console, I was asked by a friend what it actually means to have a modular PSU. Realising I had no idea I thought I'd ask the people in the know.

Your friendly uninformed neighbour

Basically, modular power supplies don't have any cables plugged in, coming with the cables detached instead.

Semi-modular ones only have the essentials connected, like MOBO and CPU power, and come with the rest (PCie, etc) detatched.

These types of power supplies let you only have connected the cables you need, meaning more space inside your case for other stuff. Also makes cable management easier.

Awesome. Our, apparently, educated guess was right thanks for your response
