can i convert my old powermac g5 case to atx if so can someone tell me how this would be greatly appriciated thaks-
check if your power mac g5 is an atx case( means it has 7 expansion slots and 9 standoff mounts.)and if it has it then it should be able to fit in a standard ATX mobo as ATX has been a standard for a very long time. And you can buy your parts first if you think that it will fit and if it does not, then buy a new case!
The hackintosh community does a lot of PowerMac G5 mods and has good guides for it.
Something that came up on Google: http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=200555
TonyMacX86 site has a lot of topics about G5 mods etc. so I would personally go look over there.
My personal favorite: http://www.tonymacx86.com/case-mods/78636-hackintosh-pro-powermac-g5-2004-model-5.html#post487336
You'll need an ATX motherboard tray and cut proper sized hole's at the back etc. so it won't be a quick project by any means.
You may need to create an account but there are hundreds of apple G5 work logs on this, hell I saw one on the fron page right off the bat: http://forums.overclockers.com.au/showthread.php?t=1047144
hey thanks for the help
