For strictly gaming, I've read that the FX 8350 is on par with i5 4690k, but one thing that was wondering about was the power intake. Will the price difference between the FX and i5 be about the same in buying different PSUs (FX being more taxing than intel)?
The power difference between the FX 8350 and the i5 4690K is pretty negligible in my opinion for most users. Off the top of my head, it's what, a 40 watt difference? That's well within the 50 to 100 watts of "padding" I like to have in my power supplies. You'd be saving like $5 at most on the power supply by using Intel over AMD, and that's $5 that probably should go towards the power supply anyways.
