Power Button goes to lock Screen

I have an old surface pro.

I have the surface set up where it auto logs into windows and opens a Camera stream in VLC.

I want users to be able to press the power button. The issue is when they press the power button to get back into windows. Problem is that, when I click the power button, it goes to the lock screen asking for the password to the account. Please help. How do I fix this.

Is the on resume display lock screen option checked in screen saver settings? If so, uncheck it and retry.

For windows 10 look in settings>personalization>lock screen>screen saver settings>mid way on the page.

You could also remove the password if you do not have any sensitive data on the machine. There are a few other tweaks, but it depends on the version of windows you are running.
