that explains it. Understanding other software is sometimes harder than writing new software from the ground up.

just checking before I go into a ramble.
Github is a website that has what is called a git repo. Git was developed by Linus Torvalds to develop the Linux kernel. Git is version control software that can monitor files and keep track of different versions. Github is a remote git repo that can allow people to share their code and show off what they program.

not bad code but the dev has abandoned it
and not enough comments in the code for me to understand where the bug is at
honestly the the right way of doing it is to try and make a UML diagram of how the software works and go from there.
Well I have only used Linux once in my life and definitely would not attempt to use it considering the frame of mind I am in now. I do like though what you told me of the site as it definitely sounds worthwhile obviously as it allows creativity, sharing of ideas, helping our fellow man and so on.
i dont understand wpa_supplicant enough for me to build a driver around it
You can use it for windows Development as well.

Github is one of the easiest ways of spreading open source software and even allows for easy integration of the GNU or MIT licence.
