Portuguese ISP sells access to specific internet services (Net neutrality?)

so… MEO is an ISP from Portugal

they offer 1gb/200mb unlimited internet access for 45€, which is nice
but now they have this thing for the mobile data plans where you have inexpensive data just to certain services
for instance 10GB to the internet costs 20€, but if it’s only 5€ if you’re going to facebook

and telegram is not in the ‘messaging’ group?
there’s their webpage https://www.meo.pt/internet/internet-movel/telemovel/pos-pagos-unlimited
and here’s a screencap

what do you think about this mobile plan? is this how it’s going to be in the future?

fun fact: ‘meo’ means piss in Spanish

Probably because their userbase aren’t the type to go for this type of deal.

Do they charge you extra for using other services, compared to the normal plan? Could just be a cash grab.

Yay, my country is on the news!! and its bad news again…
Wait, “meo” means piss in Spanish? oh that is just wonderful
Technically it doesn’t break net neutrality. a base plan is set. for certain domains you get unlimited traffic as opposed to other services which only offer the base plan. Of course this doesn’t pose a problem right now, but they can take advantage of this system in the future to avoid upgrading the base plan when technology allows for cheaper data transfer.

Oh by the way this isn’t news. Some of our communication companies have been doing this for more than a year.

I thought Portugal was country
