Please Review my Build before I buy!

Hey guys so after some extensive research and talking to people I have made the executive decision to 1) go with windows 8 and 2) go with AMD > Intel.

Alright so here's what I want from my computer....First, I want a fast boot up. I don't like waiting. It's annoying.Next, I want as close to instant reactions to my clicks, example... opening a program. I want that program to be BAM there. Also, I want to be able to run all my programs/games/skype at once with no lag.The games I play are pretty simple for now; League of Legends and Minecraft and sometimes Runescape. I want to run these games on the highest settings possible without any troubles. I also will play FPS games like CoD and Battlefield. Finally, to top everything off, I'd rather overkill this computer than underkill. By that I mean I see myself trying and playing other games and I want a computer that can do alot more than I need.

So, with that being said, my budget is around 1000-1500. Also this is my first pc build so please be patient if I don't really answer correctly or intelligently.

So here's my build:

Please tell me what you think.

Also, I need a monitor. Also, what else do I need? Thermal paste? Which cables should I buy? Zip ties? I have a mouse and keyboard but what other things do I need?

Thank you!

If you state the purpose of the build, we will be able to fine tune it. For a gaming rig, it isn't a bad choice. Just a few things you could do to refine it for that purpose. What kind of monitor do you want? Fast refresh rate? High quality colour reproduction?

Budget?

Just so you know, you won't be needing the heatsink unless you plan to overclock quite a bit. They are nice to have, but not necessary. Also, if you ever plan to crossfire that 7970, you will probably need a bigger psu (if I'm not mistaken). Might want to look at getting a bigger one off of the bat. For purely gaming and every day use, 16gb of ram is overkill, but if you are going to be editting with it, then there would be a need. Other than that, it looks solid. Congrats on the awesome pc headed your way.

Updated my first post with a bit more information. I don't think i'll cross fire or overclock but I do want the fan, my big thing about this build is I'd rather have things that I don't need than need things that I don't have. The ram is overkill I know. For the PSU what do you reccomend?

I honestly know nothing about monitors, I just want something that looks and performs nicely. I updated my first post with more information about what I'll use the pc for.

I'm not exactly sure. 750 could probably crossfire 7970, but I would want to go with something like 850 watts just to be sure. Especially with as much money as you are putting into this. Better to have and not need than need and not have is the motto of the build, right? As mentioned in a recent video, you might want to get a dedicated nic. A $30 intel nic from newegg or amazon should do the trick.

may i suggest this dust filter,it's a perfect fit for my Corsair C70.

should fit your case choice

mine has been great

Okay so this would would for a NIC?

Also, is the graphics card super over kill? I will never be doing any rendering. If I upgrade to an 850 Watt I'll probably need to downgrade something. I'm sticking with the samsung SSD just because I've heard incredible things about it's reliablitly.

The original build looks fine.

Normally I recommend an IPS panel. They have good colour reproduction and offer a cinematic experience for gaming/videos. However, you seem to want a very responsive system and you like FPS games. So, you should look into 120-144hz monitors, like the VG248QE. They don't have the best image quality, but they have minimal lag when it comes to all your different inputs, such as your mouse. It makes it very responsive and it is supposed to give you a competitive edge in FPS. It will make games look incredibly fluid if you have the graphics processing power to back it up.

my ssd has been flawless for more than a year now . and you'd save $30 that savings

gets you a break even when this psu is $115 with promo code at checkout till the 20th

Well, if you aren't ever going to play any really intensive games, then yeah, it would be overkill. Honestly, I would be inclined to get a 7870XT (almost the performance of a 7950 but with a 7870 pricetag) and ~650 watt and spend any of that extra on a bigger ssd (I personally like t he idea of ~500 gb, but I have a lot of games) a better monitor, a better mobo, or just pocket it. If BF3 is the heaviest game that you play, you will probably be perfectly fine with a 7870XT. There are two that I know of, the Sapphire 7870 XT and the PowerCooler MYST. The Sapphire would be my choice, but it is out of stock (which isn't uncommon).

Going with 2011 is always my first choice, so I decided to see how well a 2011 build would go in this price range. Your call.

Looks like a good solid machine. The only advice I would give is.

The Geforce 700 cards are suppost to be coming soon. Buy the end of the mounth. May want to wait just a bit longer to see how those pan out.

Windows 8 is great. But I would get Start is Back for it. Windows 8 works well with AMD processers. Unlike 7 I had not need to apply any hotfixes. But windows 8 will park some cores. So you will need to free that up.

Also don't use the stock heatsink. Amd stock coolers suck and get really loud under load. Also you have an unlocked processer. Better to have and not need it then need it and not have it.

If you can I would up the PSU a bit. Have fun
