Planetside 2 was my shit back in 2012-2013. My entire summer in 2013 consisted of waking up, opening the windows to let the summer breeze in, making some food, and playing Planetside 2 all day and night.

So What's Changed?

The Construction System

You can now build your own bases and harvest resources with a dedicated vehicle called an ANT.

You can build walls, turrets, bunkers, Shields, silos for resources, etc.

It's Not Grindy Anymore

You can 50 cert points in the time it used to take you to get 10.

You can Manually Change the Shitty FOV in the .INI Now

(you couldn't before)

They Added a New Continent

Hossin (Swamp themed)

2 New Vehicles and Weapons

The Valkyrie, and the Harasser.

Heat seeking and laser guided missiles for fighter jets are now a thing.

In addition to all of that, there have been millions of other tiny changes to the game. Also it's having a double XP period from now until May 22nd.

So yeah, go download it on steam and try it out if you haven't played it in a while.

How's the community? Do many people still play?

i would but it wont work on windows 10 for what ever reason :(

Yup. It's populated enough that you'll have a couple 96+ player fights.

There's an alert system now so that the population is focused on one continent.

I'm playing it on Windows 10 right now

huh ill give it another go didnt work last time i tried

Awesome man, this reminds me of the population of battlefield 2 servers waaay back in the day haha

Those were awesome, something like 64 players on each team on one map haha

Will have to check this out!

I'll have to load it up again thanks for the update on it.

i would encourage people to try this game out, even though i no longer play it. i made the massive mistake of getting involved with the community and going to the various reddits and if there is one piece of advice i'd give after playing it for three years

do not go to any of the official forums, or the server reddits.

r/planetside isn't horrible most of the time, but for the love of god, please don't go deeper. it's not worth it.
another piece of advice would be, if you're having a problem with X gun, there's usually a Wrel, Zoranthebear, or Camekaze78 review on said gun. this goes for buying guns as well.
it's actually best to go into it with the midset of a construction game in regards to creating your own entertainment, because if you're not in an outfit, you're going to have to find the big fights yourself. or smaller fights. it's all about where you go. feel free to ask me anything more, as well.

Thanks man.....I have it just haven't had the time.

This is what the Emerald server looks like as we speak
pop is on the right. mostly 96+

I've been looking to get back on this game after seeing these updates. It looks very good, I would be curious to see the improvements. It's been about 6mths since I last played it, but not because I got tired of it. Thanks for this update, because the announcement on steam didn't quite cover all of this, or at least I didn't read it.
