Picking up a tablet / 2 in 1 as a secondary device

I am looking for an extra device for running Musescore on, as it is a pain to transfer files between my computer (for editing) and my tablet (for viewing). This is my first time shopping for a tablet that isn’t an iPad, so help is very much appreciated.

Problems with current workflow:
I do my editing on my laptop, but since my laptop is a normal formfactor, I can’t place on a piano without risking it falling off the sheet music holder. While there is an iPad app for Musescore it doesn’t support Musescore project files (surprisng I know, but that’s how it is). Now I’m forced to export it as a PDF and then send it to myself using Discord so that I can view it on my iPad without trashing its local storage or my iCloud drive with many versions of the same thing. I would like to be able to do the viewing and editing on the same device.

My use for it:
I am only going to run Musescore on this thing, and maybe some other light apps at most. I am thinking about either a Windows or ChromeOS tablet (leaning towards ChromeOS right now). I have other more powerful devices to do other things, including an iPad, and a few other computers, so I am not too concerned about the limitations of ChromeOS.

System requirements for Musescore: Download | MuseScore
It supports both Arm and x86 on Linux and Mac, but doesn’t support Arm on Windows.
It requires at least 8GB of ram.

Budget: 300 usd
Second hand or refurbished devices accepted.
Requirements for screen:

  • 16:10, 4:3 or 3:2 would be preferred
  • Must be clearly legible under bright indoor lighting
  • Glossy display finish with good anti-glare coating is preferred (personal preference)
  • Should have Windows 11 support if it is a Windows device (I personally hate windows 11 but I wouldn’t buy a device just to use it for a year then throw it out after software support ends)
  • Devices with a keyboard is preferred over one without

Have you considered picking up an Android tablet? I know the one I linked above is more than you wanted to pay for, but how about a Samsung Android tablet? Just don’t purchase an Amazon tablet. I made that mistake and replaced it with a Samsung Tablet.

No. The software I need to run doesn’t run on Android, only ChromeOS.
