PFSense Snort Blocking Battlefield 1

i started up BF1 and it says im offline (hint: im not) and i try to go into the server browser and nothing happens. on my new pfsense router and i have snort installed, when i disabled it i was able to get the server browser and the main page to load. i tried port forwarding and that didnt work. id like to keep snort active. what do i do?

You need to disable the rules which trigger an alert when you’re playing battlefield.

What dexter said. If you go to the logs, you can see what rule is triggering snort to block BF1 traffic, and either add BF1 to a whitelist (never actually used snort before, would think this is possible. Is possible on Meraki firewalls), or just completely remove of that rule.

well something odd happened. It turns outs I had something to do with my is modem which I had my pfsense box plugged into. I plugged it into my Netgear Nighthawk (which I knew had no issues) and I also ended up doing a factory reset. after the reset and the setup I tested it without snort and it worked. then I installed it and it was still fine with 47ms ping and everything. i don’t even know. I’ll test it some more tomorrow and see if it stays this way.
