PCIe X4 Gen 4 to U.3 Adapter (anyone tried this)

Has anyone tried this PCIE to u.3 adapter?

I have not but previous systems I have had adapters and have not had a issue as long as I get the proper driver working.

For my future parts I plan on buying a nvme adapter to plug into my old system with a nvme drive. The nvme would move after I am done with it.

You shouldn’t need a driver. These are just connector cards, no chips on board with any sort of logic.

You can get these things with more features or much less money. Behold my affiliate links (narrator: they were just normal links)

Ok this is a bit more but for 4x M.2, and I’m prety sure I saw it somewhere (newegg?) for like $50.

It’s got a brand and cooling fins so you know it’s good. Cute little guy, under $20.

$10, from a Shenzen back alley straight to your doorstep.

Note that anything like this with an x8 or x16 host interface requires bifurcation support in the bios, but the x4s should just work in any slot.

Wendell has a video about Gen4 NVME U.2 drives not working fully on certain adapters.

I am not asking about an M.2 adapter, this is for Gen4 NVME U.2

There’s so much trash out there.

I’ve personally successfully tested this one with Samsung PM1733 and Micron 7450 U.2 PCIe Gen4 SSDs with 0 PCIe Bus Errors over 24 h of sustained load.
