PC Upgrade AMD APU or Intel CPU + GPU

I need to update an old pc and i looked and was thinking about buying the following:

CPU/APU: AMD A10-5800K Trinity 3.8 Ghz Quad-Core

Mobo: ASRock FM2A75 Pro4 FM2 AMD A75

Ram: G.Skill Sniper Series 8GB DDR3 1866 F3-14900CL9D-8GBSR

Graphics Card: Integrated AMD Radeon HD 7660D with CPU

But my friend (who claims he knows a lot about pcs) said i should get:

CPU: Intel Pentium G860 3.0 Ghz 1155 Dual-Core

Mobo: ASRock H77M

Ram: Samsung 8GB DDR3 1600 MV-3V4G3D/US

Graphics Card: Gigabyte Radeon HD 6670 GV-R667D3-1Gl

Which would be better for gaming my choice with the AMD APU or his choice with the Intel CPU and dedicated GPU?

Some game will run better with APU (paired with 6670) and some will run better with intel + GPU, if you buy at around the same total price

I prefer the APU because u can upgrade the Graphic Card if u need more power and the CPU is stronger

Thats what i was thinking but my friend said that AMD advertised HUGE numbers that they can't backup. Also one would think that the Intel DUAL-CORE 3.0 Ghz proccessor wouldn't be as good as an AMD QUAD-CORE 3.8 Ghz proccessor. Are there any websites that can compare the two?

maybe this would help u:

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/675?vs=404

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/675?vs=404 Benchmark of the A10 and the G850 (100 mhz lower clock than 860)

I cant find any websites but my dads dual core pentium pc is terrible, my quad core (3570k) i5 runs circles around it, and to be honest the amd A10-5800k is just asm powerfull as my core. Get the A10. The Apu will be slower than the gpu but atleast you wont have a rubbish two core, and you could always get a card later

Thanks! Although they both seem to be better than the other in different benchmarks the AMD won about half and the Intel won the other half, I think i am going to go with the AMD though.

Keep in mind that the AMD build you have up there WOULD indeed get you better graphics performance if you throw in a 6670. The AMD CPU would overclock better, too.

If i throw in a 6670 would i crossfire it with the intergrated 7660D?

I beleive so, I'd wait for someone else to jump in though, as I am not 100%

I read someone who said the 6670 shoud use dd3 to make dual graphics but im notreally sure, anyway u could get a beter GPU than a 6670

The A10 is a better option. You have a more clear upgrade path( i.e. GFX card, and possibly APU if they don't drop support for FM2) and a more powerful CPU.

And yes, you can throw in a 6670 in there for Hybrid XFire. The perf. increase could be anywhere from more than a 100% or none at all.

Ok thanks so much!
