PC build (i5, 660ti or 7950) suggestions welcome!

Hey!

I'm gonna build a new pc this christmas and have got some idea what to get, I already have some parts on my last build that I will use, but any suggestions are welcome. I live in finland, just to put it out there. Here is where I am so far:

Mainboard: Asrock z77 Extreme4 (132€)
- Any recomendations for cheaper ones?

CPU: i5-3570k (211€)
-Wont be overclocking too much and cheaper than 2500k (214€)
- ACF 13 Pro or CM hyper 212 evo?

GPU: MSI 660ti PE (290€) or Sapphire HD7950 Vapor-X (282€)?
- Can't decide wich one because of mixed reviews.. and I dont know if physx is worth getting the nvidia card. Trying to find the most future proof card.
-Wich one would be better? Playing mostly BF3 and coming up games. I'm a fps junkie and need the constant 60fps. Playing at 1920x1080p.

PSU: XFX 650W Core edition (90€)
- Any cheaper ones out there, that will do the job just aswell?

Memory: G.skill 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600mhz ripjaws
- From my last build.

Storage: 1tb 7200rpm (from my last build)
- Maybe getting an ssd later.

Case: Bitfenix Shinobi ATX (62€)

Any suggestions and help are welcome! :)

The 7950 Comes with 3 Free games so that a bonus, plus overclocked they usually are on par with GTX 670's for the most part, so you could sell those for profit or play them (im playing far cry 3 from it as we speak) and its a more "future proof" card with more Vram and memory bandwidth it handles high res and textures better than the 660Ti, hope i helped :)

660ti is a decent but the 7950 is just way more bang for your buck at the moment. Unless you're just really set on getting an Nvidia card I'd reccomend the 7950.

This might help - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kTujzlj11I8

^ that reviews pretty outdate now after the new driver updates and the fact that the 7950 overlocks higher, Just a word of advice!

He's also using a video card that technically doesn't exist anymore IIRC (the original MSI GeForce GTX 660 Ti Power Edition)

I vote for 7950 as well.

Also going to say pick up CM Hyper 212 Evo cooler.

Thanks everybody, helped alot! Probably going for the 7950, although waiting for after christmas sales... see if they will drop in price.

Gotta ask one more thing.. will Corsair 600w cx600 80plus bronze be ok for this build? It's 30e cheaper than the xfx 650w. Or maybe some other?

And for the cpu cooler, leaning towards the hyper 212 evo, though havent found any benchmarks on wich one would be better? They are same price here. And are there any other ones worth mentioning?

The Corsair psu is fine.  Their cx series is actually pretty good they're but not modular.

Im running a 7950 & i have a hyper 212 evo ive yet to install because my first board was bad and i had to RMA but both products are solid, i got my 7950 too 1100/1450 and it was stable with furmark

Is this a gaming rig( gaming rig= built with gaming in mind, but will also be used for everyday tasks, i.e. internet, school projects)? If so, then I might be able to help you afford a 7970.

This pc is for gaming, but also I as my main computer I will use it for photo and movie editing. So yeah.. just to improve from my old one with apu a8 3870k and 560ti.. hope i will see some improvement in those fields. Hopefully make it a little more futureproof with the mainboard.

Can you give me a list of programs you will use and might use?

Vegas, photoshop and lightroom mainly.. probably changing the video editing program once I go study it next year.

ps. How about the xfx 550w 80+ bronze? Will it be ok, any OC headroom? would it be ok for this build?

Hmmm, then the 7950 might suit you better
