Palit GameRock RTX 3070 ARGB Sync question

I have a question about the title-mentioned GPU.

I wanted to buy it for myself, but I gave up when I realized it has a external 5v 3pin ARGB Sync cable that needs to be connected to your motherboard - and my motherboard doesn’t have those headers.

I asked on multiple subreddits if the GPU’s RGB can be synced to the rest of the PC without the cable. I know you can control the RGB using their software, but not sure about actual syncing via OpenRGB/SignalRGB.

The answers I got are;

Yes you can sync without cable

No you can not sync without cable

I looked at a bunch of videos and pictures of builds having that GPU, a lot of them have the cable disconnected, yet the RGB is synced to the rest of the PC.

So now I am confused, what is the truth and what isn’t.

Any GameRock owners to confirm, please?

Yes, you absolutely need that cable to sync RGB if you are using the other rgb control software like asus aura sync or rgb fusion.

However, if you don’t have the argb sync cable from palit. Then you can alternatively download palit thundermaster software. There you can manually set the GPU’s rgb colors to match the rest of your system. But it’s not “synced” with your motherboards rgb control.
