I bought a DP1.4 kvm switch and am wanting to use it for video only, as I’m going to rack my vfio gaming workstation and will be doing USB with a hub over active/optical. I plan on putting the KVM switch on my rack and running a single (expensive) optical DP cable from the switch to my monitor, so I need a way to switch the KVM input without plugging a physical keyboard into it. Right now my best idea is using an SBC in gadget mode to emulate a HID and controlling that over the network, but I figured I’d ask here to see if anyone had any better ideas.
