I have a Opnsense box on one of those Aliexpress routers. I set up the traffic shaper and it does help alot against the bufferbloat tests but i noticed that it still gives issues when I’m downloading and mumble will still get late packets.
I saw some places that suggest my cpu isn’t fast enough, I’m also unsure if maybe the way i set up the VLANs and whatever mean i’m adding alot of load on the cpu. Somewhere suggested that the shaper algorithms just can’t handle 1gig. Not really sure where to start.
I’m tempted to just go back to an arm Nanopi and Openwrt again since their shaper was just SO good and simple. My old Edgerouter X brought my ping in CS:GO down to 1ms lol. (My uplink back then was 300/300)
