Only one USB port is functioning.

KVM Model:

2 Ports 8K DisplayPort 1.4 - both 5 and 10 Gb versions

USB Interface (5-gigabit or 10-gigabit):

Both

Problem:

I have a 1.4 Display Port KVM Switch - Dual Monitor - Two Computer KVM that has functioned fine since 2022. My setup is:

  • Output to Ubuntu PC and MacBook Pro M4 via USB-C > USB-A 3.2 gen 2 cables
  • KVM video out is DP > DP for both machines
  • Monitor 1 - DP > DP
  • Monitor 2 - HDMI > DP
  • Corsair Scimitar Elite
  • Logitech wireless keyboard

My initial KVM was set up and functioned perfectly for multiple years. Suddenly I lost function of my mouse. I switched around the USB plugs in the KVM and my mouse worked but my keyboard didn’t. I tried all slot combinations but only one device at a time would work, in the front USB 3 port. I tried wired devices with the same result. I did a bunch of troubleshooting, could not fix the problem and decided maybe the USB hub died. So I ordered a new one except the 10Gb version. Set it up, same problem. I now have a KVM that can support switching two monitors and one USB device between two machines which is less than ideal. Please help me troubleshoot this!

Also, the new KVM is having issues resolving monitor HDMI out to DisplayPort in (white > black > select mirror loop) despite working on the older KVM. Is there a difference in these two models re: DisplayPort support?
