Old supermicro x8dh-f -- thoughts on replacing internal components vs purchasing newer?

Ive got this old supermicro X8DAH±F, its a 16-bay hot-swap but its SATA2 speeds.

Thoughts on replacing internal components vs purchasing a newer but still used enterprise waste? i think i would really only need a backplane and HBA, but enterprise gear on this level aint my cup of tea.

Thanks again for any thoughts on this.

I’d only want to change the backplane if I wanted to use HDDs that the current backplane didn’t support or if you wanted to run an expander.

Memory is fuzzy on this but if you do get an expander version of the backplane I think there were some that imposed a 2TB limit so you’d probably want to watch out for those.
