OEM problems.... yay

just finished building my first pc and have installed windows 7 home premium OEM system builder.

As the key on the box seems to be invalid yet on the comp preferences it states 3 days until automatic activation.

is this normal or did I mess up?

as help for OEM seems to be slim on the net if possible link a reference to installing OEM for personal use.

So you are unable to use WIndows? Or does it merely prompt you to activate it? Are you sure it is the key?

You should get a prompt that asks you to verify your copy online.

yes windows is installed and i do get this prompt however when i use the code on the COA sticker in my copy of windows it says the key is invalid.
