OC 8320, Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3

So i just wanna know where other people have gotten with there OC's with this set up. I'm still working on my OC will post updates.

8320 and 990XA-UD3. Got 4.5ghz 100%stable. It's a gem of a chip and I can push it up to 4.7-4.8 but not on my 212 evo.

While I do not have that specific CPU, I do have the motherboard. If you are going to be pushing a heavy overclock, please manually measure the temperature of the VRM, or make sure that it is getting some direct airflow.

If you have a version 4.0 motherboard or above, then you do not have to worry about this as much, but for version 3.0 and lower, after around a 200 watt power draw, the VRM heatsink needs direct airflow in order to keep the voltage stable in order to maintain a high overclock.

If you hit a wall with your overclock, and you are not at the normal max overclock for the CPU, then the issue may be the VRM temperature. (as seen with msi 870 boards, VRM's can run well above their "overheat" temperature, right up to the point where the casing begins to melt or set on fire. (the higher the temperature, the lower the stability, and thus the less clean the power going to the CPU is).

I've got an FX6350 and the ud3.

I can run 4.8Ghz stable 100% I only run it at 4.7Ghz to keep the voltage down.
