So, this could have been put in the cooling forum, or even the GPU forum, as this will apply to all 3 forums. If i mistakenly put this thread in the wrong category, please inform me.
I recently bought the NZXT S340 from a local computer shop since the case i had, had absolutely horrid cable management. In the cable management department, i am absolutely pleased. Compared to my CoolerMaster Elite 430, this is lightyears ahead. With a new CPU and a new GPU on the way, one thing I'm a little concerned with is the lack of cooling that the S340 can provide. The card i chose, the r9 280, is infamous for getting pretty heated and I've noticed a significant lack of airflow through the case. I've taken advantage of the 2 120mm fans on the front of the case as intake, and am using a single 120mm fan in the back as exhaust. My current GPU, a GTX 650, sits at 79F idle. The CPU, a Phenom 965 ii quad core, is sitting around 82F idle. While playing a game, usually being Star Wars: The Old Republic, the GPU will be around 110F and the CPU around 100F. My current cooling system is a CoolerMaster Hyper 212+. CPU temps seem fine for what i need it to do, not going to be overclocking anything. But I'm really afraid of frying the new card once i install it. There just doesn't seem to be enough airflow going through the card. The lack of mounting on the case for additional fans doesn't really help either. Can anyone suggest something to improve airflow? Maybe recommend some higher quality fans? A picture of my rig as it is now has been included. Thank you for your time.
