Nvme issue after putting it in new computer

I just built a new pc Ryzen 7 7800x3d Asus prime x870-p wifi motherboard. the drive in question is a western digital WD BLACK™ SN750 NVMe™

Every time I turn it on and post but says my boot drive is failing which wasn’t the case yesterday with it installed in my previous build. But if I override it. It works sometimes.

I had no issues prior with the other pc I had. No idea what to do. anyone have a suggestion on how to proceed

forgot to mention i did check the desk with crystaldiskinfo and it tested good

I would remove CPU and re-install if I were you. NVMe lanes are directly to the socket. Check socket while you’ve got it out.

Refer to the X870-P specifications to see this is only the case for M2_1. OP doesn’t say, so the drive could be in M2_2, _3, or _4, all of which are chipset attached.

Also no need to remove the CPU if it’s just LGA overpressure as usually backing off a turn or two suffices to get the torque in spec. Can’t check for socket contamination or bent pins that way, though.

Could be instead an issue with the drive install, though.

just tried reseating the cpu but it still has that same issue

So you transferred the drive from your previous system. What were the specs of your previous build? (Operating system and CPU Ect)

(You probably already did these steps?) Bios updated to the most recent version and you installed all the required motherboard and chipset drivers.

i ended up not having enough time to properly look into things so i used a different drive and it seems ok thanks for the help everyone
