For those that missed it or didn't know. Experiment as you please with game, vs desktop compositor vs this option. Now in theory you can run a DE with no compositor and still get system wide vsync.
It also means you can run the most minimal lightweight desktop environment and get no tearing and the composting is in theory more efficient because its driver based.
