Hi!

As I haven't found a section about memories, I think this sub-forum fits my question best.

 

I own a laptop (ASUS K55VD), and I am thinking about upgrading the memory. At the moment it has 4 GB of RAM (@1600 MHz, CL11). I want to add another stick of 4GB, but from a different manufacturer. My question is : if the capacity, latency and frequencies match, would it be ok to proceed this way? If not, why?

 

The reason I want to do this is because I want to save some money and and not to simply discard the current stick of RAM.

Any advice is welcomed.

Yes, manufacturer wont matter at all.
