NIC pcie pass though, does the PCIe device support?

i thought all i needed was a PCIe device and a cpu/mb that supports passthough, but i saw a NIC that says it supports it, now i am wondering if that is a marketing thing or something that is needed

I have a Intel D33682

i came across a card for sale with a 82575eb controller, this card has a feature called VT-c (VMDq, I/OAT) do i need that for pcie passthough to work?

I’m guessing it’s referring to being able to pass through the individual ports on the network card. That’s a nice feature

I had to pass each port though individually with pcie passthough on my card and it works, so… was pcie pass though a thing in 2005 or 2007?

anyway seems like i either do not need that feature or the driver added it to the older hardware
