New X79 motherboards from China?

I’ll have a look once I come home.

Otherwise: just set your ebay search settings to “Artikelstandort Deutschland”

Edit: There it is:

I have dual x79 jingsha board with two 2651v2. So far I like it. Seems like PCIe bifurcation is supported by bios, I am gonna test it soon.
I got an PCIex16 to x4x4x4x4 from ebay for 100USD. It uses SAS cables for PCIe signalling.

Is there any weirdness to report? Or is anything working as intended? Can we get pictures?

I’ve shelved my Plans on “dual x79” I’ve grabbed a used server from work. Its only X5500s but free is free. I’m looking on ebay for a E-ATX Dual socket board for them. The only thing I need after that will be a case that fits. It’ll be my new NAS motherboard I think.

once I am happy with the build, I will post pics, but do not expect anything soon.

I think the fake chinese x79 is dead. The x99 with DDR3 seems much more interesting IF you can get supported CPU for good price.
Once there is dual x99 board and cheap second hand DDR4 RDIMMs, it might be interesting for a server.

I agree the new ‘x99’ stuff looks appealing but it loses all te advanatages of the chinese ‘x79’ platform.

IE cheap multicore chips and very cheap ECC memory.

If you are savvy and can ‘lurk’ on ebay for a while you can get a complete mobo + 2650v2 (8 core) and 32 gigs of ram for about $150.

Here in the uk the last set of ecc ddr 1066 I bought cost me £34 ($44) for two 16GB sticks (32gb).

You simply can’t get DDR4 for anywhere near that price.

I did the same thing bought 64 gb ram and 2xE5-2690 locally second hand dirt cheap. And then a Chinese mobo. Performance is OK, but I do think if you can’t get a good deal on ram and cpu, Ryzen is a much better option…
