New PC wont start

Hey guys,

Quick backstory: I was using my PC playing FarCry Primal when suddenly it shut down. I opened my case and smelled something burning. I pulled out my GPU and sure enough it was super hot and smelled like burning plastic.

So I decided to replace all the components as I was overdue for an upgrade anyway. These are my new parts:

EVGA Supernova 650W 80+ plus
MSI Mortar Arctic B150 intel motherboard
Core i5 6600k
Crucial Ballistix Sport 16gb DDR4
MSI GTX 1060 3GB

From my old build im using:
Corsair H100i V2
Kingston HyperX Savage 480gb SSD
WD 1tb HDD
NZXT S340 mid tower

After putting all of these together I tried to turn on the system but it wouldnt. I rechecked every connection and every cable but still nothing helped. The system still wont turn on and I dont know what the problem is. All I can think of is when my system overheated it might have affected the case also? maybe it shorted the usb connection from the case that connected to the mobo? which could explain why when I press the power button the system wont turn on? I dont know im all out of ideas. Any input would be appreciated

Check if you left some post in the case under the motherboard. One of them that's not necessary may cause a shot stopping the system from booting.
Are you getting any particular sign or the system is so dead that pressing the power button doesen't do anything? Try to short yourself the pins to start the system and see what happens.
Did you switch on the power supply?

I just tested the PSU using the included PSU tester and it works fine. And what do u mean by post in the case under the mobo? And yes I switched the PSU on

I mean those little things that you screw into the case to hold the motherboard in with screws.

Lol standoffs
