What is the best type of HDD to pair with the new Enmotus Fuze drive?
This will be used with a Data/Application drive in a new system.
I’m not specifically asking for a particular brand but what specific drive type to select.
For instance – Seagate drives :
Barracuda vs Barracuda Pro vs Iron Hawk vs Enterprise Drive vs Exos
Western Digital :
Blue vs Black vs Red vs Red Plus or Pro vs Gold
My main concern is performance and longevity (MTBF) - not price.
I’m personally leaning towards an 8TB Seagate Exos drive as I have never used this series of drives.
I work in a data center and this is one of the most common drives used (and brand) - at least where I work — and I’ve been using Barracuda and Fire Cuda drives for the past few years with no problems.
One other question – What’s the best way to remove Store Mi version 1 and image the paired HDD so it can be replaced with a nVME boot drive?
My current setup is a Samsung 960 nVME paired with a 4TB Seagate Barracuda w/256MB cache – I have less than 500 GB on the 4 TB drive and am replacing it with a 1 TB nVME as this drive only contains the OS, drivers, User folders and a few installed system/utility applications as I maintain a separate Data/Application drive
