New build issues

Alright so I got my AMD 860k today.  I have it installed it and everything was lighting up like it was supposed to.  Yet I did not get a bios screen.  I started checking my connections and have also reseated and switched out sticks.  After I reseated my GPU I noticed the 6 pin for my 7770 was loose i pushed it in until it clicked and reseated it and this time i would get a flash from the led fan and nothing else would happen.  Removing the 7770 makes everything light up like it is supposed to but if i attempt a boot with the 7770 in it same issue did I fry my card or just the slot?  Also is it possible my board needs a bios update?

Check your motherboard on the website it is from and see if there was a bios update is required for the 860K to work. Have you tried using only 1 stick of RAM? When I first set up my PC I was a little distressed and had to restart the computer at least 4 times before it was able to POST with 1 stick of RAM.

It has the same bios listed as the one for Kaveri however I do not know that bios shipped with this board as it may have been sitting for a while.

I have done one stick only and also tried some other ram (Out of another PC) as well with the same result.  I'm afraid I may have toasted my Mobo's PCIe 3.0 slot and that's why nothing happens other then all the fans start up and I can hear the hard drives come on.

please go to pcpartpicker and build your rig and post the perma-link for it ... it will make things much easier to do the research.

That is entirely possible most likely not the case. I'd suggest clearing your CMOS and see if that fixes the issue if you've already tried 1 ram stick. Also you may want to try a different GPU if you have access to one.

GPU is dead I'll be upgrading sooner then i thought and buying a cheap apu as well.

Also heres the PC part picker for the build http://pcpartpicker.com/user/talon04/saved/Vcwypg

Make sure you have these hooked up correctly..................................................................

Step B: Installing the Corsair power supply

  • 1. Make sure the power supply’s AC power cable is not connected.
  • 2. Follow the directions in your chassis manual and install the power supply with the screws provided.
  • 3. Connect the main 24-pin power cable. The main 24-pin power cable has a detachable 4-pin mechanism in order to support either a 24-pin or a 20-pin socket on the motherboard.
  • A. If your motherboard has a 24-pin socket, you may connect the 24-pin main power cable from the power supply directly to your motherboard.
  • B. If your motherboard has a 20-pin socket, you must detach the four-pin cable from the 24-pin connector, and then plug the 20-pin cable onto your motherboard without connecting the four-pin connector.
  • 4. Connect the eight-pin +12V (EPS12V) cable to the motherboard.
  • A. If your motherboard has an eight-pin +12V socket, connect the eight-pin cable directly to your motherboard.
  • B. If your motherboard has a four-pin socket, detach the four-pin from the eight-pin cable, and then plug this four-pin cable directly to your motherboard

WARNING: The detachable four-pin from the 24-pin main connector is not a “P4”
or “+12V” connector. Serious damage can be caused if you use it in place of a “P4”
or “+12V” connector.

Yeah I have them hooked up correctly, I also put the card into another build with a different psu that it had been working in before, with the same result, thats why I'm figuring the card is dead, I'll get and another new GPU this next week i guess.
