Networking Inquiry - Jumbo Frames & MTU

Hey All Folks,

I wanted to know if anyone could give me some insight on Jumbo Frames working with MTU. I wanted to know what would happen if the client devices had the MTU set to ‘1100’ and a switch was enabled to allow Jumbo Frames from one device to the another. Would the client device reject the whole ethernet frame or would it just segment the frame for processing?

Sorry if i’m not making much sense, studying networking currently.

MikroTik recently released a video with some explanation about how this works and why you could do this. The settings are aimed at their own systems, but the information is general enough so that you could check if you can apply it to other systems as well.
