Need suggestions for good AIO for 5950x

Hello!

I’ve recently put together a system with a 5950x, 3080ti in a Meshify 2 compact case. Im currently using a noctua NH D15 air cooler for the cpu but the temps at idle are around 44c and at load can reach up to 80 which is too hot for my taste. Does anyone have any suggestions for a great AIO cooler that can fit in the front along with the 3080TI?

I don’t overclock aside from default PBO and I dont really have a set budget. Just want to cool this thing down.

Which 3080 Ti exactly?

This here is your problem. Did you benchmark it? Most of the time PBO is not worth it.

That said, I’m going to say LF2 240/280, if you can fit it - that’s why I need the exact model of your GPU. To check if the AIO will fit in the front.

Top exhaust would be preferrable, but LF2 280 is a thicc boi, and might collide with your RAM if the sticks are high.

Oh good point, Its an EVGA FTW3 Ultra. I did bench mark it and it was reasonable (cpu was sitting at 74 and gpu was at 80) but a week later, my idle temps are just too high even with PBO turned off.

If top exhaust is the way to go to get my temps down, Im all for it. I always saw Wendal use front so I thought it was better, haha.

Front is much easier to build. Which, for Wendell, probably matters a lot. On top your GPU won’t get the air which already went through an AIO. But I don’t think anyone properly tested it.

When it comes to idle temps… That’s just Ryzen for you.

One more thing: I have the old Meshify C, and it has a pretty thick foam for a dust filter. Maybe you just need good intake fans? I don’t know what your case ships with, but maybe it’d be enough to just slap some P12s or P14s on the intake?

Im starting to figure out that Ryzens just run hot, haha.

My case just ships with two 140m fractal fans for the front and a 120m for the back. I may try the P14s if the freezer 2 240 doesnt do anything. Thank you very much for your help!

Idle temps are certainly high. But under load it’s pretty cool. Bar some weird stuff, which happened once, my 5900X stays below 70C under load.
