Part list for my Server/Workstation hybrid build are as follows:
CPU: Threadripper Pro 3975WX
Cooler: 360MM AIO cooler
Motherboard: ASUS Pro WS WRX80E-SAGE SE WIFI II (12x13 inches EATX)
Im looking for suitable case that would allow me to consume all 7 PCIE slots of Asus motherboard /w GPUs . So a case that can support 7 GPUs (Commercial GPUs only , so double or triple slot cards will be used i.e. rtx 3090 or 4090)
PCIE Extender system that i would use : newegg (dotcomm) /p/0Y3-00M7-00677
My preference is put the system beside me, so I dont want anything that would be super noisy (i.e. no server grade PSUs etc).
Silverstone rm600 seems like a good option, but I think its length wont let me accommodate motherboard + pcie extender system /w GPUs along its length dimension.
Other option is to go with open frame gpu mining type rigs , those look ok but I’m not sure about them, i would be putting very expensive hardware in there and im not comfortable with open air case , need something that is closed and protected.
Any ideas ? Im okay with modding any off the shelf case to fit my needs.
You as asking for at least 14 Slots on a traditional chassis. I’m not saying no one makes such a chassis, but I don’t know of one. Even the biggest of chassis traditionally have a most 9 available rear slots available. And even in a rack mount configuration, I don’t know of any design that affords that much internal room for such things.
