Need input on gaming rig

Good day forum!

I'm soon looking to build my very first rig, and I will be looking into Eyefinity at some point in the near future. It's going to be a AMD build, this is what I have found out so far:

MoBo: Asus Crosshair Formula-Z

CPU: AMD XF 8350 

Gpu: Asus Radeon HD 7970 DirectCU II 

Ram: 8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 2400MHz

PSU: Corsair Series HX1050

Cooling: Corsair H100i

ODD: Samsung 24x Sata DvD Writer

HDD: 500GB Western Digital Caviar

Case: Corsair Obsidian 800D

I will be looking into some overclocking of both the CPU and GPU. I would love to hear any input about the build, and what could be better.

This looks like a pretty hot build, but as you are spending big bucks, you may aswell buy a little SSD for you OS and a few games to get a bit of extra speed!

Get the asus sabertooth pci 3.0 its on newegg, it will be better imo, it has pci 3.0, if you wait the ROG board will be updated soon I bet.

I'd just grab 16Gb of ram.

Get a 1 or 2Tb harddrive.

agreed, dont get 500gb, you might as well buy 1tb, 500gb is overpriced
