Need help with Samsung 970 MVMe boot SDD + RAID1 with 2 HDD

I want to setup a Samsung 970 Evo MVMe 500GB SSD Windows 10 boot drive and then have 2 6TB SATA HDD’s run in RAID1 along with 2 or 3 other regular SATA storage drives. Just hoping I could get a little guidance on this.

I am setting this up on a ASUS Crosshair VI Hero with a 1800x with 32GB DDR4.

Thank you for any help.

You only need drive mirroring for uptime. Or read speed, but is it worth the trouble?

Just use the second 6tb disk for backups.

Yeah that would be a lot easier I will probably just do that. Thanks.

If you have a bunch of same size disks you can raid them for fun. Like raid 5.

Be aware in a raid the chance of disk failure is multiplied by the number of drives. Mirroring is used to keep the system functional with a drive failure and increase read speed, distributed parity increases the number of drive failures and increases r+w speed.

Windows doesn’t do raid AFAIK. You’ll need to setup hardware raid on your motherboard or with a pcie raid controller card.

I don’t I just have the two 6TB hdd’s. The other drives are all different sizes.
