Need help with my Asrock 970 extreme 4, Bios won't post. (but I've seen the bios in the external build!)

I've seen my bios in the external build, but after I have put the stuff into my case, it doesn't post?! What's wrong? I get: CF on my Motherboad, and then the LED's of the motherboad turn off. I've just seen that bios! And now I don't get anything on screen. By the way, I've never got a post beep, or an asrock logo, just got into the bios.

Here are some forum posts, but they aren't really helping me:

It just worked :(

Did you correctly install the motherboard, and with that I mean that the board isnt shorted by the stand-offs. Also, all are the cables connected the right way? You could take it out again and check for any visual damage. And try again booting it out of the case, on top of the anti-static bag

Yeah I agree, did you mess up on any of the stand offs? Or is it damaged? Did you connect it to the power supply?

Having identical stand-offs is very important. If you used 1 longer one you could run into trouble. Also check if you installed the RAM correctly, check if the CPU is correctly seated and ALL the connectors are correctly connected. And yes. even the 6 pin PCIe connector. Is the harddisk sata cable connected?

When I installed one for my friend I forgot to plug in the molex connecter at the top of the board, be sure that it's plugged in.

everything is connected, I have removed the HDD and SSD to see, if there is a diffrence (because at the external build, I haven't attached it either, just graphics card, cpu, ram, and mainboard. The RAM stayed installed like that pretty much the same way. And I have used the stand off screws that came with the case, 2 of them were already build into the case. And I've checked everything, all connectors are plugged in.

What the.. ? You didn't attach the HDD? What are you trying to accomplish here. Always attach the HDD, even if it doesn't have Windows installed on it.

Edit: when you booted for the very first time, did you use a HDD or not?

I tried it with, and withough the ssd and hdd, it didn't make a diffrence

and no, I didn't use an HDD when I booted the first time

Did you read the manual thoroughly before setting up you motherboard? Does it say what to do when is doesn't POST? And I would go to the website of the manufacturer and read the FAQ of the particular motherboard.

I will do that, GOD, I have just broken a little piece of plastic, for the graphics card removal, because I was so angry. God, luckily, it's not such a big deal, I can attach it back, if i glue that broken part, and after it dries, I can attach it again, I got very lucky there. IF IT DOESNT WANT TO, FORGET FORCE. Man, I've learned from that now.

Lol, I did the exact same thing about a week ago. Luckily it was an old computer so it wasn't a big deal. And please be careful, building a computer can take some time/stress to get it to work properly.

seriously, everything was fun until that ;). I am intrested in the solution, but I think this will end badly.

I was so scared tp build my first computer, I started at 7 pm and finished at 7am that next morning because I was so careful on all the parts and how I put everything together.

ok, I'll build it outside of the case again, I'll post here very soon.

pretty much like me, but than I caught myself in the routine

a molex connector on a mainboard? I don't get it, I've connected the case fans though.

Attatching a harddrive external devices like a hdd or optical drive, has nothing to do with a bios post.

somewhere you did probabley wrong with the power connectors, or the fron pannel connectors.

dit you  put in the gpu correct, and powered it correct?

cpu power connector.

power switch reset switch front panel header correct

usb  front panel headers correct?

 front audio header correct ?

ramm installed correct ?

make sure you installed the motherboard correct to the case  and the io panel, beware of the io pannel has some lips  wenn you force the board to the io panel those lips can touche the mainboard, that cause shot cirquits

ok, I've done an external build out of it, after I pulled it a bit away from the io panel, it got (not sure) A8 (means: setup password)

Now, out of the case, and being an external build I get this: A6 (SCSI Detect) which is the same thing I had, when the mainboard was posting! But it doesn't post on my screen!

what am I dealing with? should I send it back, it worked?!

and before A6, it gets A9 (Start of setup) and jumps back to A6, I think that wasn't the case in the last external build.
