Need help selecting a board

Thank you in advance for your help. I have no idea when it comes to boards. This will be my first build and my uses will be gaming and general use. I also plan on learning to overclock on this system, and going crossfire at some point. My budget for the board is 250.00, but I want to get good value for my money. I could also increase that budget with good reason. I am open to any brand, but I have shopping Asus and ASRock on others suggestions.

Is http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131821 worth upgrading from the ASRock Extreme 4?

no, the extreme 4 will provide very similar performance (less than 2fps in game difference) while the plastic shield on the asus board serves no purpose but aesthetics and may even make the board overheat or be less overclockable
