Need help my mic doesnt work with my ps4

So I used Beats Pros as my headset and mic for my PS4 for over a year. It worked great, but my controller broke so I bought a new one from Sony. The problem is, when I use the Beats with my new controller, I can hear all audio, but it does not pick up my mic.

Is there some sort of adaptor I can use to make my Beats work with my new controller? If not, is there a decent AUX cord with a mic that I can buy? The cord I have always used with it is a double sided 3.5mm cord with a mic/volume adjuster on it.

Thanks to anyone who helps.

It sounds like it would be your system / device settings on the ps4. Have you tried to go through the ui and configure it? If it worked on your last controller, it most definitely should work on your new controller.

Test it on your phone. I'm guessing it's one of those three layered 3.5mm cables. If you have the 3 black lines or indentations on the connector, then that means it will accept audio output. If not, then you need an adapter.

And an external mic of your choice. You can go cheap and get something for cheap, just search lapel mic. Or get the Antlion mod mic, which has been featured on the show many times.

I've never used the controller as an audio source, but it might not be the smartest idea.

If you don't mind spending a bit of money, pick up a mixamp and hook it up to your optical in on your PS4 and then you'll have all the options you need and many more.

Mine does have the 3 black lines but it does not work for some reason. Maybe i'll try to return the controller or something because Sony refused to help me with anything because the Mic was 3rd party :(
