i currently have a 4U home server running a threadripper 1950x cooled by the noctua U9-TR4-SP3 air cooler.
i am wanting to upgrade this server to a 2990WX.
i have heard that the 2990WX puts out considerably more heat than the 1950x.
is my current cooler able to get the job done? if not, are there any air coolers that can keep the 2990WX cold while fitting in a 4U case?
As per Noctua TDP guidelines, you are good to go.
In case you don’t have it already, install rear exhaust fan(s) to help with airflow.
