I am looking for a new pair of closed-back headphones for under $100 with good bass and strong mids. I am finally done with my crappy $7 in-ears, any suggestions?
I'm not one who follows the headphone market too closely, but I've been rocking a set of these for the last 4 years. The bass is there, but not artificially boosted. The only phones I've heard that sounded better overall (and marginally so) were 300-dollar Sennheisers.
The build quality is excellent. Mine are still basically new, aside from the pads, which have a tendency to flake apart over time. The original pads lasted a year before showing any signs of flaking, then another year later I replaced them with these. Those are much more comfortable, bring out the bass just a tiny bit more, and haven't shown any signs of fatigue in the two years since. And I use these things about 95% of the time that I use my computer. Those phones + pads have been so good to me that I would honestly be afraid to replace them.
But again, I don't listen to a wide variety of different headphones.
