Need assistance on power connections for MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G

Greetings forum,

This is my first time installing a graphics card and would like your help regarding power connections to said card. The rest of the PC build was done a while ago and works great.

The card requires 1x8 pin & 1x6 pin connectors.
I'm using a Corsair RM750 PSU.

Note that the card comes with a 6 pin (female) to 8 pin (male) adapter

Here's how I plan to connect it: 1x8 pin from the PSU to the 8 pin on the card, and 1x8 pin from the PSU to the 6 pin on the card using the adapter.

Am I right in doing this? If so, is this the optimal way of connecting it? I would also like to know what my other options are, just out of curiosity.

Thank you guys so much.

You should have a 6+2 and a 8pin on a psu of that size and power use those adapters are never a good idea.

Thanks for your reply mate.

Just so I understood right, you mean I should keep the 8 pin connection as it is, and use one of the 6 pins from among the PERIPHERAL & SATA on the PSU to the 6 pin on the card?

Yes

Excellent. Thanks again!
