So I am looking at upgrading from the stock cooler on my cpu. I have a noctis 450 case, and an amd FX 6300 cpu. I have a budget of $150.
I am looking at corsair H110i gtx 280mm or Kraken x61 280mm, any advice is appreciated. Other units I might have missed that are better?
The corsair coolers are the way to go. I will stand behind them 100% :P
Coolermaster units are usually pretty cheap, and the nepton series is pretty quiet
$110, the 280 is like $130

That cooler costs as much as the CPU. Are you going to overclock that chip to the limit? If not, you won't need to spend 150 bucks on a cooler.
I like the kraken aios. I have an x60 and it works great. honestly, they are all going to work at a similar level. Like someone said, if you are not going to overclock the hell out of your cpu, then dont spend 150 on a cooler. just get one with a 120 or 140mm rad depending on the fan size in your case.
Otherwise go for a 280 or 240 from NZXT or Corsair. Ive used both and they work really well.
Yeah I am planning to overclock the cpu.
Thank you so much for the advice.
If corsairs and kraken have simular results then I do not have to worry on which I choose.
Will take a look at the cooler master also.
Thanks again this pc was my first build, and just built that a few months ago.
CM Nepton 240M works like a charm for me.
4690k oc'd to 4.1 and im usually idling on around 35 C
I would personally not get an AIO as a lot of air coolers have the same or better cooling. That being said, The NZXT stuff if pretty good.
Was just gonna say... I've used NZXT X60, Corsair H80, and most recently a custom loop... I just went back to a Noctua NH-D15 because of less points of failure and I can still OC my 8350 to 4.7 and use just 1 fan for the heatsink.
Slow down, Turbo :).
Until i upgrade my gpu i don't really need anything more haha
Well, your system specs in your profile page is incorrect. Wrong CPU. :)
Close enough is good enough right?
Thanks for that
4960X was a 1000 dollar processor. 4690K is a 230 dollar processor. Close enough ;).
Cooler Master just got sued by Asetek and most of there AIO units are going to be recalled from shelves so if you do get a Cooler Master AIO keep in mind you may have no warranty on the unit.
I'm pretty sure that the lawsuit only concerns units sold in the USA? As of now the CM units are still on shelves in Canadaland.

Yes there still on sale at a lot of places and no you cant do patent infringement and still sell elsewhere
Sorry, your understanding of the ruling isn't correct. The court decision only blocks sale of affected items in USA.

You have the mounting, so why don't you check out Deepcool Captain 360? Where I live, it's WAY cheaper than any Corsair or NZXT AIO... And it's 360... Push-pull that thing with 6 fans on 7V static and you are set...
Daz from Dazlab looked at push, pull, and push/pull, his findings may surprise you.
