Comes down to this:
Gaming: do you want to waste $X for basically no gain? If so go ahead and upgrade
Productivity ; you have a best case gain of 33 percent or so in fully cpu bound scenarios that can make use of 8 cores. And only when 100 percent cpu bound.
You may not get 4.3ghz all core on a 2700x. So for Less than 8 threaded workloads you may go backwards.
