My monitor is stuck at 60hz and i don't know how to fix it

So my monitor " Acer Nitro 23.8" Full HD 1920 x 1080 PC Gaming IPS Monitor | AMD FreeSync Premium | 180Hz Refresh | Up to 0.5ms | HDR10 Support | 99% sRGB | 1 x Display Port 1.2 & 2 x HDMI 2.0 | VG240Y M3biip" says it can go to 180 hz but i don’t see the option in settings

I don’t know what could be causing this as i have already bought a better hdmi cable that support 144hz and I need help to figure this out please

What graphics card do you have? What cable did you buy?

That monitor only supports HDMI 2.0 and Display port 1.2 which both max out at 4K 60Hz.

Somehow you seem to have it set to 4K despite it only being a 1080p panel. Higher refresh rates should become available if you set the the monitor to run at its native resolution of 1920x1080.

Good catch! I missed it being set to 4k.

Thank you so much i never thought my computer was powerful enough to run 4k in the first place so i didn’t think that was the reason

Sometimes graphics cards default settings go to the highest DESKTOP resolution, which is different to gaming resolution. Excellent catch by @tk11.
