Its been a long road "about 6 months lol) since i was a concole gamer. i started off with a A6-6800K and no GPU and 8 gigs. now i have an AMD Athlon x4 860K with two R9 270xs in crossfire and 16 gigs of ram. and all thank to a you guys too who helped me find out what was best :) thanks all.
Nice man! Glad we could be of help. You should post some progress pics if you have any.
sure!
You could also do a pp link so we can get the jist. Less work than pics
Congrats man! Sounds like you got yourself one heck of a system now!
And yeah like @BlueKoda said, we'd love to see pics!
I feel like my two gpus might be bottlenecked by my cpu? im not seeing to much of a diff in bf4 and nfs rivals
Maybe. Check CPU and GPU loads during gaming. If the CPU is maxed at 90-100% a lot, then your next upgrade might be a new mobo and CPU.
yeah cause I got top of the line for my mobo. the Athlon x4 860k. what do u sugest? btw I know it bad im amd fan boy. I know the higher end intel stuff is better than amd. so what AMD cpu should I get?
The 6300 is the best bang for the buck right now(though it has about the same performance as the 4x 860k). If not that I would definitely go with the am3+ platform since AMD seems to be sticking to that platform.
AM3+ is dead lol. FM2+ is the one which is new and probably going to be getting new CPUs.
Then why is the top of the line FM2+ cpu equal to the 6300 a relatively low end AM3+ cpu.
oh and yeah its hiting the 90% mark on CPU in bf4. sigh. well I heard that AMD is going to be releasing new cpus for FM2/+ and A88X chipsets hopefully soon. I want to take full advantage of my dual r9 270xs
Because it's a smaller and lower TDP platform, more concentrated around APUs than high performance CPUs.
The latest FX architecture is about 3 years old. The FM2+ platform is just over a year old, and the 860K/A10-7850k are only a year old or so.
AMD's developing Zen, a new high performance chip. It's not going to be out until sometime in 2016, though, and should be using a different socket.
I have the top of the line cpu :P the Athlon x4 860K which I heard was equal to a high end i3 or low end i5
Consider an i5 & motherboard switch? I don't expect any high performance FM2+ parts anytime soon.
nothing on amd side? sorry I admitted im a fan boy I know intel is better in there higher end products but I like team read so. yeah?
At this current moment, not really. The FX-8350's single core performance is pretty poor in terms of today's performance. Games will often prefer stronger single cores, and therefore I have trouble recommending any of AMD's high end chips since they're just so old.
Have you overclocked it?
