I have a triple monitor setup on my PC, and I’ve been playing quite a bit of Euro Truck Simulator lately. However, it seems like the game isn’t behaving nicely with multiple monitors on Linux, at least without tinkering.
Monitors are 3 24 inch 1440P monitors, so I NEED fractional scaling for things on the desktop to be in a size that is usable.
With the Linux install of the game, there are these issues:
- In fullscreen, the resolution was weird when it first started, as it was trying to run in fullscreen mode and with the resolution of all 3 monitors added together. However that resulted in the picture only rendering on the center monitor and being squeezed horizontally into the resolution of one.
- If I use borderless window mode, the task bar will render over the game window.
- Issues with Fractional scaling means that if I select my screen resolution, the game will render in a floating window with no way to move it around.
Because of the issue with fractional scaling I installed the Windows version but there is a different issue: I can’t seem to run the game across multiple monitors.
Brief System Specs:
Ryzen 5600X
RTX 3070TI
3x Samsung Viewfinity S6 monitors at 125% scaling
Linux Mint 21.3
Is there any way I can use all monitors in the game without resorting to Windows? I am not using any mods so either version of the game will work for me. I’ve read about virtual displays but it sounds like a lot of hassle to switch between gaming and not gaming.
