Wendell HEEEEEELP!!!
,
I’m sitting here trying to put 3 M.2 SSDs in RAID 0
on the Z790 GODLIKE. Everything goes good, and I “configure”
3 X 2TB SKHynix Platinum
I get done…and BIOS shows a new, shiny Volume 1 RAID0, 128K Stripe, 5.4 TB bootable
drive. I hit F10 to “save and exit” and the stripe vol. shows only 4KB before I click “yes” (which I do, right now).
I restart, get into BIOS…( now in VMD mode )…and NO drives “show up” at all (before they did,…
The BIOS detected EVERYTHING).
The Z790 GODLIKE has 7 M.2 ports – 1 and 4 bus to the CPU
2,3,5,6,7 to the Chipset.
I have these in 1 (CPU) and 2,3 (Chipset)…is THAT the problem, trying to RAID0 M.2
From 2 different bus types? I’m at a loss BASICALLY trying to do what your buddy George Ung did…but YOU are my MSI guy
If you google " I Built A PCIe 4.0 RAID Array - And It’s STUPID FAST " you will see Georges video…I’m trying to do THAT.
Are the drives detected by the OS after installing the raid driver, I somewhat remember an issue like this when testing the 12th gen launch
Ah…you’re assuming I can LOAD the OS lolol…
I’m powering on and start smashing the DEL key to boot into BIOS…
It is taking FOREVER…I’m getting a “shotgun in the face” of error codes as the LEDS go from RED cpu to GOLD RAM to WHITE vga to GREEN boot, error code ending on A6
Sometimes It doesn’t do anything and I have to power off…then ON again…smash the delete key again…cycle through all the LEDS and error codes…and THEN
…it FINALLY goes into the BIOS…but it took 3 MINUTES…I’ve gotten used to walking away from the test bench and it will be in BIOS when I get back…and when I STAY and watch it…
It goes into BIOS with NO MSI logo splash page or anything, directly to the “Dash Board”…and I sure as hell cannot get the OS to load FROM the USB stick…
…The only thing I’ve done that " I " can think of is…I successfully flashed the most up to date BIOS for this new Z790 GODLIKE…
I meant the OS installer
