I didn't even notice that extra key. It's from using weird keyboards for far too long.

So it's one of these? Just like pipe key?

yes, it's a second '|' '\' key.

That is a crazy laptop.

At 5.5KGs that is madness. That will exceed my carry on allowance.

Its good that these limited run things are made. Its pointless but fun.

but pointless.

id wager i could build an ITX PC for less that’s as small (cubic wise ) , quieter and matches the performance. Not to mention cheaper and upgradable without a warranty void. And with a small keyboard that would attach. the only thing missing would be the screen, but then again there are ways of doing that too. Portability wise, im guessing it wouldn’t be too far off, perhaps even better

The make the so easy to upgrade, but what do they have to put warranty void sicker over the easily accessible area into the user replaceable items. But then give you the tools to overclock the think.

I would understand why they would put them on the motherboard or the GPUs as I don't think they are design to user replaceable.

well they give you the pre defined parameters within which to use their overclocking software & we don't even know if there is an EULA attached to that before you begin ;)

and yea then there’s the sticker. This laptop ( table top ) is a gimmick. It could of had the 3k screen for instance at a custom 18" size but most probably its the same old 1080p screen as the Alienware 18".

in terms of its point, there isn’t one which is kind of cool imo but I wouldn’t buy one. It might of been easier for them to just make a few demo units to show what their company can do rather than actually release it into the wild where it will probably sit on a desktop, plugged into AC, connected to an external monitor on a laptop cooling pad, at an awkward angle with a wireless mouse and wired keyboard connected.. like a desktop only 3 times more expensive and much louder.

its too heavy for carry on luggage afaik too and the battery isn’t going to go for very long. Let alone there would be no chance of running Linux / SteamOS further down the line as SLI isn’t working properly there and the rest of the components are typical laptop bits with often unsupported network drivers.

Still as a 'concept' its nicely wacky.

It's a nice power laptop, but why is it vendors always have to make their gaming laptops so "gaming" style? I want a professional laptop that can game. I'd rather have a good laptop keyboard instead of the mechanical just so I can have the touch pad in the normal location.

it really doesnt have an excuse to be that loud. if its that bad thats just sad. my alienware 18 was fine. even under load. the problem is the way they set up there heatsinks. it needs to be bigger. and if they arent already. it should be using liquid ultra thermal compound. (the best of the best.) only 2 heatpipes on the CPU is sad. (looks like the thrid one is cooling some VRMs. its to bad alienware doesnt really push there 18 inch class anymore. they were a beast. alas. this thing has a mechanical keyboard.
