This is a good thing i think.
Mp3 is still one of the main formats i use.
Mp3´s in a 320kb format sound totally fine to me.
And i personally dont really notice much of a diffrence compaired to something like wave..
Unless the file is spec´d up from a lower type of format like wma.
Or a mp3 with lower bitrates then 192kb.
Because those are awfull.

Increased compatibility is usually a good thing from an average users perspective. Most won't care why their MP3 doesn't work, they just want it to work. Explaining why other formats are better doesn't help them play their music they already own.
This is a good thing.
