Mouse alternatives to Logitech MX Master?

I have an MX Master 3S mouse, and it’s getting pretty worn and nappy looking (finishes on all of the touched surfaces are pretty much gone).

Are there any quality non-Logitech alternatives that have an extra (horizontal) scroll wheel and buttons?

if the rubber is still structurally sound, you can always put a skin wrap on it: Logitech MX Master 3s Skins & Wraps, Prevent Rubber Grip Peeling, Capes

This is just a sample, quite sure there must be something like this on AliExpress

Following.

I had a Gen 1 and Gen 2 Logitech MX master. Both were great. When my second wore out, I grabbed a basic Logitech from our company’s IT desk and haven’t been motivated to spend $100 on another MX master, but getting a bit tired of the basic mouse.

There are not really any other options, but maybe you would be fine with simply having horizontal scrolling in the mmb wheel? Shift scrolling also changes direction. There are also sometimes application dependent ways to scroll using middle mouse.

tbh I found the horizontal scroll of the mx master 3 to be clunky and the low polling rate to feel bad. I much prefer the gaming mice logitech has with infinite scroll buttons.

I use a Razer Humanscale ergonomic mouse and I love it.

I must eat my words. There is a direct competitor to the MX master by keychron.

If you get this, I would be interested in your thoughts after using it for a while.

Got an update?

I don’t have a use for it right now so I didn’t buy it. This isn’t my idea of an ideal, however it still crosses my mind.

You can get them on a scamazon too for cheaper.

Having just got the M6 mouse (because I also viewed it as a direct competitor, and I wanted a mouse with onboard memory), I have to say I very much regret the purchase.

The grip feeling of the mouse is very different to the Master 3S and original Master, with much less support near the bottom of the thumb leading to a slightly more claw grip being required.

The scroll wheel is also very loud and clunky, and the mode switch button is obnoxiously loud to the extent that people around me notice when I switch.

The mouse is much lighter, which in some ways is good but very preference-dependant.

The scroll-mode-switch button is also just a scroll-mode-switch button, unlike the Master it can’t be remapped and you can’t map gestures to it. I didn’t realise how much I liked having a proper middle mouse button + hold for gestures until I didn’t have it

I’m sure overall it’s a great mouse, but if you’ve between using the Master series for a while it doesn’t really compare.
