Motherboard and ram compatibility

I have no idea where to post this topic. If this isn't the right place for it, feel free to move it where it belongs.

Thanks in advance to all members, that will help me.

Now to the issue at hand.

I am planning to become a proud owner of Asrock a88x extreme6+ in the next few days. I will combine it with the cheapest most useless cpu I can find - a4 4000. I will get some ram to get me to the next paycheck. Then I will buy a better ram and wait for the next-generation APUs.

Nice plan. The issue at hand is the ram. Now each manufacturer have a memory support list, just like a cpu support list. How mandatory is this memory support list? Is it like the cpu one, where no model, outside of the list can work with this mobo, or is there something else, I miss? My problem is, I want to have 2133 or even better, 2400 MHz ram with black or white color, that is actually imported in my country. In the list there is non. So can I put any module in the ram slots? If yes, why the hell does the mem support list even exist, if I can use any memory? Will there be some issues with "unsupported" memory, working with this mobo?

As I said, I will buy a better cpu in a few months, and I know a4 4000 supports only 1333 memory. I just want to prepare, and when I buy the cpu - plug and freaking play.

Why A4? If you get an A10 6800K and fast RAM, you're golden. But an A4, no matter how fast RAM you pare it with it will not be even close to the A10 6800K with 1600MHz.

You can get an A10 and 1866MHz, than overclock the memory (if you feel like) and you're in a good spot

I am buying A4 cause it's cheap and will get the job done until the new APUs come out.

My question is what will happen if the memory is not in the mem support list? I will buy next-generation A10 or whatever it's branded.

Don't worry, the RAM will work, on the A4 the max profile is 1866MHz but you can overclock it more (don't count on it too much). "Supports DDR3 2600+(OC)*/2400(OC)/2133/1866/1600/1333/1066 non-ECC, un-buffered memory"

I still think it's a horrible idea, and you should just wait till you can afford the A10 and than build your system

I did the same thing as you.  I can not seem to get the cpu to run my ram at anything better then 1333.  There are no oc guides online for apu's it seems.
